Can’t patrons already use ebrary on mobile devices? What’s different with this iOS app?
Patrons can use the browser on their mobile device to visit the Nazareth ebrary site and view e-books online, but the smaller screen often requires them to scroll and makes navigation more cumbersome.
It’s also possible to download titles directly onto iOS devices (iPad, iPod touch, or iPhone), but that requires a third-party app such as Bluefire Reader. With ebrary’s dedicated iOS app, patrons may now search for, read, and download e-books seamlessly, on an interface that’s been optimized for mobile viewing.
ebrary’s Mobile App on an iOS device allows for online and offline access to documents.
· Online, use the app to gain access to your ebrary site and then:
o Read any documents on the site
o Download documents from the site directly to your device (documents must be downloadable, and download must be available on your ebrary site)
· Offline, use the app to:
o Read ebrary documents you’ve previously downloaded and put on your device
o Read non-ebrary pdf documents
ebrary’s mobile app runs on the following Apple iOS devices running version 4.3 or higher
· iPhone® 3GS, iPhone® 4 or iPhone® 4S
· iPod Touch®
· iPad® 1 or 2
ebrary’s mobile app is not currently available on Android or other mobile devices.
